A dear friend of mine was to give his precious child (who suffered from mental illness) a father’s blessing. His greatest desire was to “fix” her problems. He hoped for inspiration to bless her with immediate healing. But words of complete healing were restrained and replaced with the phrase, “In due time”— her problems would be resolved. She left this earth life before those blessings could be realized. We never ask for trials in our lives but they come for our learning, as hard as they may seem. “Strong faith in the Savior is submissively accepting of His will and timing in our lives, even if the outcome is not what we hoped for or wanted” (Elder David A. Bednar). I want to develop and demonstrate faith similar to my friend, knowing that all will be accomplished according to the will of the Lord, and all blessings will come, IN DUE TIME.
