A young mother was driving along a remote icy road late one night when her car skidded and rolled, causing trauma to her children inside. The car was immobilized. The young mother panicked when she realized that there was no cell phone service, and few cars traveled that lonely road. Within minutes, however, a car slowed to a stop in front of her stranded vehicle, and a kindly woman approached saying, “I am here to help you, whatever you need.” She loaded the family into her car and drove them to her warm farm house a distance away, fed them a meal and sent her husband to retrieve the stranded vehicle and repair it. My thoughts turn to my Savior Jesus Christ, and the countless rescues He performs in my behalf, even when things seem hopeless. “I will not leave you comfortless. I will come to you” (John 14:18). I need to recognize His loving, outstretched hand each day as He protects, guides, comforts, and brings me peace.
