I love being a woman! Women are endowed with gentle strength and tender hearts. It comes naturally for women to nurture, strengthen, lead, teach, listen, and comfort. “The errand of angels is given to women…to do whatsoever is gentle and human, to cheer and to bless in humanity’s name” (LDS hymnbook). By divine design, women’s role includes being caring wives and mothers who teach and model correct principles to a rising generation. This is a huge responsibility! Equality should not be defined by blending gender roles, but celebrating our innate differences, standing side by side—equal in God’s eyes as we perform our specialized stewardships. There is much confusion in the world about this. I want to be the kind of woman described by Margaret Nadauld: “Women of God can never by like women of the world. The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity.” I value the noble birthright of women!
